At PayPoint locations
By Bank Transfer
You can Top-up by bank transfer (FREE) by logging in to your own on line bank account and instigating a bank transfer from there. Enter the bank account number and sort code details that we provide you in the user guide and where you are asked for a reference, please ensure you enter your 9 digit eccount number, found on the bottom left of your card. Your bank will then transfer the funds to us to place on your card. If you’re transferring funds from abroad, your bank may ask you to quote the IBAN (International Bank Account Number) and BIC (Bank Identifier Code). Please email customer care at customercare@statravelprepaid.co.uk for this and we will email or post you the details.
Online by Credit/Debit Card
Log in to your STA eccount and click on the tab labeled ‘Top-up’. Once you have registered you card with us you can then use this tab to top-up your account from this card you have registered. Please note a 3% charge will be applied when using this method.
Post Office
You can now Top-up your STA Travel MasterCard® Prepaid Card using cash at over 14,500 Post Office branches in the UK and your money will be available to spend within 1 working day.
Simply hand your card along with the money you wish to Top-up with to the cashier and they will provide you with a receipt.
Topping up at the Post Office costs 99p and the maximum daily Top-up amount is £250.

Top-up Card
You can now request a Top-up Card for your STA Travel MasterCard® Prepaid Cashcard for FREE by contacting Customer Care. Your Top-up Card will display your eccount number and will allow you or a friend/family member to Top-up your STA Travel eccount/Card using cash at over 14,500 Post Office branches or over 19,500 PayPoint locations nationwide. All you or your friend/family member have to do is hand over the Top-up Card along with the money you/they wish to Top-up the STA Travel Card with. Top-ups made at PayPoint will be available on your STA Travel Card instantly, top-ups made at the Post Office will be available within 1 working day.
This is a great service if you are travelling outside of the UK, and would like someone in the UK to Top-up your card for you with cash.
Top-up Alerts
You can register for alerts by email (FREE) or Text (8p plus standard network rates apply) whenever cleared money is loaded into your eccount.
Salary top-up
Why not ensure a regular Top-up of your STA Travel CashCard and ask your employer to pay your salary/wage directly onto your eccount/card (free of charge).
Simply log-in online and download a salary/wage form or call Customer Care on 0845 872 0812 (Open 24/7 - calls charged at uk local network rates, network rates vary abroad) and request one. Complete the form and hand it to your employer.
