Cool things to do in Malaysia

We've put together a selection of our favourite things to do and the best bars to visit in Malaysia.

Top Tips

If you're in need of inspiration you've come to the right place, take a look at the top tips we've put together with the help of our perfect partner Intrepid, of all the best things to do whilst you're in Malaysia.

Top Tips
1 Outside of Kuala Kangsar, take a small boat to remote bungalows
located on an island in the midst of a large lake. Here you can gain a
fascinating insight into Malaysian life. You are introduced to Malay
cooking and customs while enjoying traditional Muslim meals during your stay.
Sitting on the floor, using your fingers instead of knives and forks and
dressing in sarongs, all makes for a great cultural experience.
2 Get a taste of old Asia with a trishaw ride around the streets of
old Melaka. There are temples, churches and mosques, museums and forts to
explore.
3 Take a bicycle rickshaw tour to meander through the streets and
lanes of Georgetown. The original Chinese atmosphere of Penang island still
exists today, making it a fascinating place to explore.

Best Bars

Malaysia offers style, glamour and some of the coolest bars around, check out what our friends at Tiger Beer reccommend below.

Bar Location Description
La Bodega Lounge KL Kuala Lumpur Sofas for lounging, books for unwinding, set against a backdrop of smooth jazz sounds…this is your home away from home. The Lounge is the place to unwind if you yearn to be pampered in an environment that is far from the madding crowd, soaking up the sounds of jazz until the wee hours of the morning.
Indochine KL Kuala Lumpur Currently the hottest bar and restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, CoChine and Bar SaVanh look set to take over the country by storm! Housed in a beautiful colonial building with an interior that is both sexy and cosy with organic coffee-sponged walls, Thai silk opium beds and ethnic Sukothai artefacts, this is the place to indulge in a visual and gastronomic feast.
Zouk KL Kuala Lumpur For those of you familiar with the original Zouk, Singapore, you'll know what to expect at Zouk, KL - namely top DJ's, awesome music and beautiful people! Along with a bag of local and International awards in tow – Zouk has also been voted one of the best international clubs by The Face, DJ Mag, and Ministry magazine; and nominated by Muzik magazine as best club at the Muzik Awards 2002. Frangipani KL Kuala Lumpur A posh restaurant downstairs and a bar upstairs, a venue for post-dinner drinks is easily accessed via a curving silver staircase leading up to the infamously decadent bar. If the bar stools and dance floor don’t tickle your fancy, spacious luxurious maroon lounges beckon you to sink into them.
Zeta Bar KL Kuala Lumpur Located in the famous Hilton Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Zeta Bar, a fairly new club, has already been infested with regulars especially on weekends. Impressive interior design that will throw you off-guard - of warm colourful lights and luxurious furnishing allow the Hilton nightclub to live up to its name.
