Get used to the manana, 'tomorrow' attitude. Mexicans have little concept of timetables and deadlines. As long as you have a flexible attitude to travel you'll love spending time here. From playing football with the locals on stunning Caribbean beaches, to visiting the vast ruins of the Mayan civilization - Mexico has something to suit all tastes. The climate is generally good year-round and once you get out of the costal tourist resorts, Mexico is a very cheap country. Take a boat trip out the many small islands dotted along the Yucatan coast and experience some fantastic diving and marine life, or simply chill out with a long drink in a hammock. The Pacific west coast has some world class surf breaks together with nightspots that will keep even the most energetic occupied 24 hours a day. The south-east is dotted with ruins of the ancient Mayan Empire, stretching from Cancun right over into Belize and Guatemala. So slip on a sombrero and enjoy a couple of tequila's and you will fit right into the relaxed pace of Mexican life. Stewart Towell - Nottingham Branch
