Latest Bar Launches

Al Pasha
One of the few Xinjiang style restaurants in town has been re-invented as a “Silk Road” themed shisha bar/restaurant in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui’s K11. The opulent-looking restaurant, with its fine Arabesque details, has a more contemporary lounge area with fancy cushions, Moroccan lanterns and magical lighting.

Busy Suzie
Occupying the circular space underneath the majestic tree at Heritage, it’s one of the most dramatically styled restaurant interiors by dynamic French design duo Patrick Gilles and Dorothée Boissier. It’s glam Tokyo via chic Paris with lofty ceilings, walls of bamboo, sexy lighting from Isometrix and quirky Oriental pop artwork from Osage. Head chef Mitsuo Tonoyama handpicked the best team of Japanese chefs.

Lakage
A bit of Vegas in the heart of Lan Kwai Fong. Set in a dark, swanky 3,000 square foot grotto with mood lighting of ardent purples and reds. There’s a catwalk of leopard print tiles, alligator stools by the stretch bar and a giant birdcage as the focal point of the bar. From the plush low-rise sofas, or from VIP area, you get to enjoy steamy performances by man-candy and femme fatales, every night at every hour while sipping sexy cocktails with names like The Porn Star, Kinky Mule, Entrapped, Cage Cooler and Cage Quencher.

Foodie Update
Check out some sizzling hot Michelin rated restaurants that won’t break the bank!

Looking to impress someone special and dine at a Michelin-rated dining establishment? Hong Kong has a number of very affordable, neighbourhood, Michelin-rated restaurants featuring the best of Cantonese cuisine, such as one-star dim sum restaurant Tim Ho Wan (the cheapest Michelin starred restaurant in the world!); Hung's Delicacies (a Michelin one-star Chiu Chow restaurant); and Yung Kee Siu Choi Wong (Bib Gourmand).

Cathay Pacific joins Yung Kee for 'Best Chinese Food in the Air'
Start your Chinese culinary journey to Hong Kong in the air, Cathay Pacific has partnered with Yung Kee for its annual 'Best Chinese Food in the Air' restaurant programme. The concept promotes Hong Kong's position as one of the world's gourmet capitals. Cathay Pacific will feature 30 of Yung Kee favourites on its business and first class menus from 1 February to 30 April on all flights from Hong Kong. Renowned for its roast goose, Yung Kee is arguably the most famous Chinese restaurant in the world. Located on Wellington Street in central Hong Kong, Yung Kee began as a modest cooked food stall.  In 1942 it opened as a restaurant and now has a Michelin Star.

FoFo by el Willy
Occupying the M88 building’s top floor, this new addition to the dining scene plates up Spanish food à la Shanghai’s popular el Willy restaurant.  The space is decked out like a modern winter wonderland with plastic white Kartell chairs and a super sleek, frost-coloured marble-top bar. And in keeping with the restaurant name (“fofo” means chubby in Spanish), the space is adorned with white fiberglass figurines of cute, flabby animals. The FoFo menu offers traditional Spanish dishes alongside creative new takes on Catalan cuisine. The restaurant also does a nice selection of authentic, tasty “juicy rice” paellas to satisfy all carb cravings. Those eyeing the modern side of the menu should try the sashimi-influenced scallop ceviche served with creamy avocado and crispy shallots.  Their liquor license is pending but expect some awesome sangria once it comes in. Until then, it’s BYOB with zero corkage. Address: 20/F, M88, 2-8 Wellington Street, Central, 2900-2009
