Web Analyst

Job Description:

Working within the UK online marketing team, you will be responsible for the analysis of traffic to and on http://www.statravel.co.uk/, including the booking engine. You will support the business through data intelligence to enable quick and effective optimisations with the objective of improving key business metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Webmaster, your key areas of responsibility are: 

• Measuring and reporting on and offline marketing performance
• Analysis of site performance to inform recommendations around
  • Usability
  • Navigation
  • Products featured
  • Calls to action
  • Messaging
  • Site enhancements – technology or content based
• Online Booking Engine performance
• Tieing web events to purchase (both on and offline) to inform the business
• Behavioural analysis and customer segmentation
• Providing support for business cases for various products
• Using Hitwise to uncover competitive insights as well as help the marketing team improve the PPC and affiliate strategy
• Other data streams including surveys and front end advertising data

Required Skills & Experience:

• Experience with web analytics tools, preferably WebTrends
• Creation of custom reporting based on key metrics or timeframes
• Creation of dashboards, preferrably for automated delivery
• A very firm understanding of web analytics standards and methodologies
• Excel proficiency
• Database understanding

 What you will bring to the role:

- Degree level education or equivalent work experience
- 1 - 2 years experience in a junior analyst role
- Strong data analysis and research skills
- Commercial awareness and understanding
- A desire and ability to uncover, communicate and help implement valuable business insights
