The location is excellent, right beside a metro station and only about 5 minutes walk up from Placa Catalunya and Las Ramblas, so very convenient in that respect. The hostel has two bars including one on the roof with excellent views all around, a unique place to get merry. The bar on the second floor is also pretty good and has an vibrant atmosphere, especially when they have live bands on (such as a crazy Nigerian rock group with a spaced-out Spanish girl playing keyboards).
I stayed in a 12-bed mixed dorm, so this was ideal for meeting new people and is why I would recommend it to singles and first-time travellers. Each bed has a locker, and the room was very spacious. Very secure with a swipe entry for both the room and the floor. The bathrooms are also very clean and tidy. Standards of cleanliness all around the hostel are very high, and bed bugs don't really stand a chance of living in there.
The breakfasts there are very plentiful, and the Global Gossip internet (pay as you go) is very handy. You can charge up your card and the credit on there doesn't run out, so you can use it again another time you stay in the hostel, or in any other Global Gossip outlet around the world.
The design of the hostel is also rather unique, since it is located in a modernista building, so there are Gaudi-esque touches all around, in particular the 'wobbly walled' central staircase which is quite unlike anywhere else I have stayed before. A far cry from the damp-smelling 'scout hut' hostels of yesteryear. All in all, a splendid place to stay whilst you while away your time in this world class city.

Stayed in a 12 bed room and it was spotless... very clean, nicer than many hotels in europe. The staff were young and very helpful. Had a nice common room and bar, breakfast in the morning. Best part is it's location... right in the center of Barcelona. I'd say the only inconvenience was paying for linens, but they were clean and fairly cheap. overall, probably among the very best hostels in Barcelona... if not the best.

The hostel is just 200yds down from Gaudi house, based in the centre of the cultural hub. Close to Plaza de Gracia and La Ramblas, the location can't be faulted.
