I got a room for four people on my own which was clean and well maintained (apart from getting a light to work). Cleaning services (washing machine and tumble dryer) on site and buffet breakfast every morning for 20 Yuan.
A great gateway to see fantastic China.

Staff were incredibly helpful, going out of their way to assist with any problems. We went on two trips with STA from the hostel and these were amazing, the location was great with a supermarket at the end of the alley.
Good hostel

Very helpful and friendly staff. More like a hotel than a hostel, and quite hard to meet people unless you are in a shared room.
A great centrally located hotel. A good choice for a first budget trip to China.

The hotel was in walking distance from the Forbidden city and Tian'anmen square. The hotel restaurant served both western and Chinese food so people with less adventurous tastes were catered for. There was a basic internet cafe in the hotel for staying in touch and there was a small shop where you could book tours direct from the hotel. Most of the staff spoke a basic level of English so for western travellers wanting a safe first trip to China, this is well worth the price.
Everything about the hotel seemed better then the budget price would have suggested.
