Chinatown inn was situated in the heart of a bustling market area yet despite this the rooms were peaceful. The staff were overly helpful and pleasant and Rosaline the receptionist on her day off even took us to 2 amazing tourist sites far off which if done by private tour would have cost a fortune. Even the other guests from all corners of the world were lovely and we made several friends which made the holiday even more enjoyable. We paid £14 per night for a twin room with bathroom, there were no windows in the room but it had air conditioning so this wasn't a problem. Room was clean and cheery and even had an english speaking movies channel with 4 internet facilities in reception. If holidaying here then remember to barter wih eveyone but watch out for taxi drivers trying to rip you off, but to be honest we walked most places or there's a train service and monorail service better than the uk which costs around 25p per one way journey. Walking distance to twin towers or time square is approx. 20-30 minutes where you will find the most amaing shopping centres brimming with western goods. We dined most of the time at the road side restaurants which are open 24/7, where you can easily get a good meal for £1-£3. Nearby little India is also a good area to check out for food and shopping. Duty free for cigarettes has to be amongst the best in the world where a pack of 5 rolling tobacco or 200 cigarettes is under £10. For animal lovers in most parks at early evening the monkeys come out and keep an eye out for large lizards or dragons as the locals call them. Of an evening time don't be surprised to see the odd rat, cockroach ( big ones ) or geckos on the pavements. This was my second visit and my friends first but we both thoroughly enjoyed everything about our visit.
