the staff at the hotel were helpful and came to get us after we rang as we couldnt find the hotel. found the japanese people to be very helpful in trying to help us find the hotel but language barrier was extreme so it didnt help much, I would recommend getting directions from googlemap or something similar beforehand as we found STA directions were very misleading. Alternatively it may be easier not to prebook and just check in at a hotel that you find to be in a convienient location

Good place to stay, comfy bed, no frills basic rooms, free wireless internet in the lobby. The lobby has had the facelift not the rooms! I think we were in the smallest room felt like we were in a cabin on a ship - VERY compact but at the end of the day you dont go to Tokyo to stay in your hotel room so did the job. Tricky to find so recommend taking a street map of the surrounding streets to help you.

Located near the center of Tokyo in an intriguing neighbourhood, Ikebukuro, this hotel offers simple and compact rooms to crash after a busy day exploring one of the most interesting cities in the world. Sleeping on reed matting in a semi-traditional Japanese manner was surprisingly comfortable, while the AC meant that the heat and humidity were not a problem. Although it offered little beyond a room to sleep in, this hotel was so practical we booked it for two additional nights. For the price you pay it really is ideal for anyone looking to discover the city.

This hotel was part of our package, and would not have been our first choice. The room was very, very small, with sleeping on the floor taking up most of the room, and the bathroom was very similar to a caravan. It was also quite far away from some of central Tokyo, having to catch a 40 minute train to even get to a pickup point for our tour.

The hotel staff where really friendly and the room was nice and clean, perfect for what I wanted, Cheap, Cheerful and close to a good train station!(which is a small ungerground city in itself) Also lots of lovely air-con (needed in July because of the heat and humidity!) and internet access to tell the people back home about your trip!
Ikebukero is a nice area to walk about and explore with plenty of convenience stores (konbini) and drinks vending machines on nearly every corner! I felt quite safe walking about, as a female on my own. Theres even a little bakery a few doors down, which some interesting products! Curry doughnut anyone??
Friendly staff and free internet.

The best thing about my stay was the free net access! I was a little disappointed that the advertised television had no English channels. I was also expecting a traditional Japanese room, but was put in one of the out-of-the-way Western style rooms. The location is close to the subway and JR lines, but there is nothing to do in the immediate area.

Imagine - 3 old ladies, exhausted from overnight flight, couldn't get Limousine Bus as it didn't stop near hotel, spent a fortune on taxi, taxi driver couldn't find hotel as it was very well hidden down a back street, the hotel was being reburbished with no reception or lounge. Worse to come - we opened our bedroom door and it consisted of three rush mats on the floor and a TV on a shelf. However, we are Girl Guides, so we unrolled our futons and slept. The location was fine, and we found the nearest hotel from whichl to return to the airport on the Limousine Bus, and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful.
