STA Travel sponsors ripcurl boardmasters
STA Travel, the youth and budget tour operator are one of the official sponsors of the biggest surf, skate and music festival in Europe this summer -- the Ripcurl Boardmasters 2007.
The event will see 200 of the world's top surfers and 20 of the world's top skaters competing in Newquay between 6 and 12 August. Festival goers will also get the opportunity to see 20 acts including Ash, Paolo Nutini, The Guillemots and Funeral for a Friend. To support the

* A competition giving away the surfing trip of a lifetime - a round-the-world ticket to the hottest surf destinations in the world. The competition entered via a bespoke microsite http://www.jointhesearch.co.uk, was launched on the 16 July and will give the lucky winner the chance to search for the perfect wave in Queensland, Melbourne, Tahiti, Hawaii and Fiji.
* To support the competition STA have produced an ikyp as a campaign flyer. Available in all STA Travel branches across the country, the ikyp is used as a pointer to the competition and contains a mini surf guide, information on the hottest surf destinations and interactive wheels to help surfers find, among other things. the best waves and the best surfing films.
* STA Travel will host a stand in the Headland village on Fistral beach for the duration of the event. STA travel staff will be on hand to give travel advice and will be distributing beach essentials such as branded flip flops and sunscreen to the 200,000 festival goers. People visiting the stand will also get the opportunity to enter an exclusive event competition to win a trip to the Ripcurl Pro Surfing Championship at Bells Beach, Australia in 2008.
