We're a warm and welcoming team at STA Travel UK, which is why we want you to feel as confident and as comfortable as possible whenever you're using any of our social media channels.
When we use the term, "Social Media", we're talking about websites which you might use to connect with other people. Facebook is the most popular one, plus we’re active on Twitter, Flickr, and more recently, a location-based network called, foursquare.
The way these websites can be used changes extremely quickly, so it's important for us to highlight a few house rules for our users.
Our social media channels form an important network for travel enthusiasts from the UK and the rest of the world. They allow people to share ideas and content, ask a variety of questions, and share first hand experience.
In order for STA Travel UK to open up on these social media networks, and keep them relevant for you, we will periodically moderate the content published on our channels.
We will remove any third-party comments or content on our social media platforms that contains any of the following: • Discrimination of any kind: sexist, ageist, racist etc. • Spam: including any comment of a commercial nature. Including profile pictures and user IDs. • Any content which is infringing, obscene, indecent, misleading or unlawful. • We do not allow people to tag us, as this restricts out right to reply. • Any personal details e.g. phone numbers, addresses etc. • Files which contain viruses, corrupted files, or that may cause damage to people's computers.
It's very rare that we need to enforce these rules, but we hope you understand the reasons.
We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any point, not least because things change so fast in the online environment. If they are important to you, please check back regularly.
By sharing images, video, or other material on the STA Travel UK Facebook page, you grant permission for us to use your content in our marketing material. We will contact you if this happens.
Please understand, STA Travel cannot be held responsible for any opinions given out by our community. If you are concerned about travelling within a particular region, we recommend you check that latest FCO advice. |
