Summer Camp USA

Going to camp is a quintessential North American activity. As a counsellor at a US summer camp you’ll enjoy activity-filled days and a fantastic sense of camaraderie amongst the kids, staff and counsellors. Often described as the hardest job you’ll ever love, we’re confident you’ll have the summer of a lifetime and boost your skills at the same time!

We've teamed up with BUNAC (they've been running summer camps for over 40 years and know their stuff!) to offer you the ultimate Summer Camp counsellor experience.

Applications are now closed for 2012. But it's never to early to start planning right? Give us a call or pop into your local store to ask about applying as a Summer Camp counsellor in 2013.

What is Summer Camp USA?
Summer Camp USA gives young people the chance to work at an American summer camp as a counsellor. The programme has low up-front costs because we lend you the cost of their transatlantic flight and other programme costs, and the camp then pays us on your behalf once they’ve completed their contract.

This still leaves you with a guaranteed salary of either $900 or $1,100 depending on age, which they receive directly from their camp. After camp has finished, you’ll then be free to travel in North America for up to six weeks. Sorted!

How much will it cost?
• STA Travel Programme fee fr £495
• Police background check fr £35
• US Embassy visa fee fr £115

When does it take place?

Camp takes place for 8-10 weeks over the summer, normally starting in early to mid-June and finishing towards the end of August/beginning of September. The programme is open for applications from September to April and the earlier you apply the more chance the you have of being placed at camp.

How much will I earn?
As well as having a fantastic summer, you'll get paid a competitive salary. If you're under 21 (on 1st June, 2012) you'll get $900 for the summer, if you're 21 and over you'll get $1,100.
