Going to camp is a quintessential North American activity. As a counsellor at a US summer camp you’ll enjoy activity-filled days and a fantastic sense of camaraderie amongst the kids, staff and counsellors. Often described as the hardest job you’ll ever love, we’re confident you’ll have the summer of a lifetime and boost your skills at the same time!We've teamed up with BUNAC (they've been running summer camps for over 40 years and know their stuff!) to offer you the ultimate Summer Camp counsellor experience.

What is Summer Camp USA?
 What's included?• Return transatlantic flights and travel to camp • Summer placement at camp as a counsellor or member of support staff • Help in obtaining the necessary J-1 visa • Comprehensive travel and medical insurance • US government SEVIS fee (paid to the Department of Homeland Security) • Pre-departure orientation preparing you for camp life • Access to camp facilities and all food and accommodation while at camp • Full support from our partner BUNAC for the whole summer Why go to Camp with STA Travel? • We'll offer you a low-cost programme. • Experienced staff are always on hand in the UK and US. • Most members of the team are summer camp veterans. • Our partner BUNAC has been running summer camp programmes for over 40 years so they know their stuff! • You’ll receive individual placement at an approved camp, plus orientation and training.  • All food and accommodation is provided while you are at camp.• BUNAC has a great reputation with camp directors for having some of the most skilled, hard-working and well-prepared counsellors. To apply to be a counsellor on Summer Camp USA you need to: • Have experience of working or volunteering with children and speak fluent English • Be at least 18 years old by 1st June 2012 • Be available for at least nine weeks from mid May/ early June to mid August | ||

Summer Camp USA gives young people the chance to work at an American summer camp as a counsellor. The programme has low up-front costs because we lend you the cost of their transatlantic flight and other programme costs, and the camp then pays us on your behalf once they’ve completed their contract.
