Day 1-3: Bogotá / Manizales

Arrive into Colombia's capital at any time and transfer to your accommodation. Once you've checked in, the rest of your day is yours to explore - make sure you sample your first taste of delicious Colombian cuisine! The next day, get out and see the city on a guided bike tour. Start in the historic and scenic neighbourhood of La Candelaria, famous for its cobbled streets, museums and traditional churches. Move on to explore some of the city's most beautiful parks, then culminate your journey with a traditional fruit juice and an insight into the city's rising street art scene. There's more free time this afternoon; for a good view of the city, head up the 3,152m tall Cerro de Montserrate. Travel on to the small university city of Manizales by bus on Day 3.

Day 4-6: Manizales / Ibagué

Start Day 4 with a transfer to the Hacienda Venecia, a working coffee farm with over 100 years of history. Here you'll take part in a guided tour, where you'll learn all about the coffee making and roasting process, Colombia's coffee culture and walk through the coffee plantations. After the tour is finished, head back to Manizales for some free time. Day 5 is yours to spend at leisure, so have a wander through the city's beautiful parks. Make your way to Ibagué the next day, where you'll start on your volunteer project.

Day 7-11: Volunteer Project in Ibagué

Spend the next five days volunteering with the local kids in the heart of Colombia's beautiful coffee region. Depending on the project's urgent needs, you might find yourself doing a range of things, including helping the children with their schoolwork, cleaning classrooms, helping to coordinate sports and dance activities and helping with their homework. On your arrival, you'll be given an orientation briefing where you'll be able to ask staff any questions which you may have. You'll clock off at 5.30pm every day, so the evenings are all yours.

Day 12-14: Ibagué / Bogotá

Travel back to Colombia's capital by bus on Day 12 and check in to your accommodation. Do what you choose on Day 13, perhaps taking in the city's rowdy nightlife scene? End the trip the morning of Day 14.
