The perfect blend of volunteering, relaxation and living it up in stunning Thailand. Spend time caring, bathing and feeding elephants in friendly, rural Surin, a province famous for being the home of the Thai elephant. You'll then get the chance to help the local community with a building project in beautiful Sangkhlaburi. After helping out with these two local projects, head to the party paradise island of Koh Phangan for some much deserved rest, relaxation and raving on its beautiful beaches!

Day 1: Arrival

You'll be picked up at BKK and transferred to your shared accommodation on Khao San road - toast the trip with a few curbside bevies and a Pad Thai.

Day 2: Bangkok

Today you'll discover the wonders of Bangkok with a walking tour around the city (including Wat Pho, Wat Arun, canal boat tour and The Grand Palace - entry is optional).

Day 3: Surin

Transfer to your volunteer house in Surin by train or coach. Settle in and orientate yourself with the local area.

Day 4: Elephant Village

Transfer early morning (around 8am) to the elephant village where you'll stay in a local homestay, complete with traditional Thai food.

Day 5 - 6: Volunteering Project

Work with the elephant carers in looking after these big friendly grey giants. You'll learn how to cut bamboo and feed the elephants, bathe them in the river, and most importantly, you'll become good pals. In your free time, why not go kayaking on the lake?

Day 7: Elephant Village to Surin

After a morning with the elephants you'll transfer back to Surin Town volunteer house.

Day 8: Surin

Free day in Surin to rest and explore.

Day 9: Bangkok

Transfer back to Khao San Road for some delicious street food and late night dancing in preparation for the next stage of your adventure.

Day 10: Sangkhlaburi

Today you'll jump on a minibus to Sangkhlaburi, a picturesque town near the Burmese border.

Day 11 - 15: Volunteering Project

Get picked up each morning around 07:00 and transported to the building site where you'll get stuck into some Thai-style construction until about midday, before the sun get too hot. Afternoons are yours to explore the deep lakes and rolling mountains surrounding Sangkhlaburi.

Day 16: Bangkok

Transfer back to Bangkok to revisit the neon paradise of Khao San Road.

Day 17: Bangkok to Koh Phangan

Enjoy a free day to explore Bangkok before boarding the overnight coach and ferry to Koh Phangan, the party island!

Day 18: Koh Phangan

Arrive Koh Phangan and settle in to your island-style accommodation.

Day 19 - 27: Koh Phangan

Eight days of sun, sea and sandy bars. Seek out a legendary Full Moon Party or take advantage of all the snorkelling, diving and hiking opportunities the island has to offer.

Day 28: Bangkok

Back to Khao San Road for one last night.

Day 29: Departure

Time to wave goodbye to your Thai Voluntour adventure (sad face emoticon)!
