Day 1-2 Toronto / Montreal

After an early start, be picked up from your hostel and head down the Trans-Canada Highway toward Montreal. First stop? The Big Apple - no, not New York- where they have made over three million apple pies. Stop for lunch before cruising through the Thousand Islands in the St Lawrence river just in time for a night out in Montreal - don't even think about sleeping. Day 2 is all about exploring Montreal (and staving off the hangover). Let your guide show you around its many cafes, bars and restaurants or if you'd rather scamper off on your own, do just that.

Day 3-4 Quebec City

Prepare for the busy day ahead! Check out the spectacular Montmorency Falls - higher than even Niagara! From here carry on to Quebec City, the largest walled city in North America. Wander around its charming cobblestone streets, past chic cafes, vibrant street musicians, colourful local art and best of all? Heaps of amazing food as far as the eye can see. And don't forget - there's also the incredible opportunity to go whale watching in Tadoussac!

Day 5 Mont Tremblant

Start with a hearty breakfast and then drive over to Mont Tremblant, a beautiful skiing village located in the Laurentian mountains, with a stop off at the National Park for lunch and a hike. Once at the hostel, swim or canoe before dinner and then spend the evening around the campfire by the lake. Bliss.

Day 6 Ottawa

It's time for a visit to Canada's spectacular capital Ottawa. En route, stop off at Omega Park to see all its furry inhabitants, from bears, buffalo, and wapiti through to deer, wolves, boars and moose - cameras at the ready! Arrive into Ottawa at around 3pm and check in at the local hostel before taking a walking tour of the city and historic Parliament Hill. You'll definitely be ready for dinner and drinks at the Byward market in the evening!

Day 7-8 Fort Coulonge

Arrive at Esprit lodge in the early evening and have a barbeque feast of salmon or steak (or a vegetarian option!) waiting for you. Get a good night's sleep as it's up and at ‘em for 7.30am for a day of river rafting and boarding. If you'd rather stay at the lodge, there are plenty of outdoor activities to keep you occupied for the day. In the evening, tuck into a delicious meal and relax on the patio with a cold beer.

Day 9 Toronto

Journey through beautiful cottage country areas to Toronto and, after you've dropped your stuff at your accommodation, it's drinks time at Global Village Backpackers!

Day 10 Huntsville

Leave Toronto behind at 8.30am and fit in a stop at Tim Horton's for coffee and donuts - you can't leave Canada without trying it! Arrive in Huntsville for lunch then check in at the Wolf Den hostel and Nature Retreat. The afternoon will be spent in the fantastic Algonquin Park and the evening is all about dinner and relaxing by the campfire.

Day 11 Ragged falls / Algonquin Park

Start the morning off with a canoe up the Oxtongue river toward amazing Ragged Falls - hope you packed your swimming stuff! After lunch at the Den, head back into Algonquin Park for an evening hike and keep your eyes peeled for moose before a barbeque dinner.

Day 12 Toronto

Take advantage of your day in the park and its many natural wonders before making your way back to Toronto. Stop for a picnic lunch along the way and climb the Dorset Scenic fire tower for some breathtaking views. You'll be back in Toronto at around 6pm, where your journey ends.
