The morning is spent in Esperance, a remote town surrounded by scenic granite, bush and beach. This area of Western Australia has no less than nine national parks. You will get to see Cape Le Grand National Park where the blue seas mix with powder white beaches; there’s plenty of time for stops and swims. In the afternoon you can hike up Frenchman Peak, which gives you a excellent views of the bays and beaches and to the islands of the Recherche Archipelago. This area is too spectacular to experience in one afternoon so you will have a full free day to take in some hikes, go swimming or relax at the beach. You might even encounter a kangaroo on the beach - it doesn`t get any more Aussie than that! Tonight you will camp at Cape Le Grand National Park. There are toilet and shower facilities. (BLD)
Today you will head to the Stirling Ranges to explore the Central South/West of Western Australia. Leaving the aptly named Lucky Bay behind, you`ll be pleased to know that you haven`t used up all your luck. More inspiring country is in front of you and your guide will pick a top spot to stop for a hike on the way. Your guide will choose a National Park to visit depending on the time of year and weather. You might get to see wildflowers in the spring or a forested area with flowing rivers and waterfalls in the heat of the summer. Tonight you will camp in a private camping ground in the Stirling Ranges. There are toilets and shower facilities. (BLD)
The granite rock coastline near Albany is sculpted into incredible formations that make for great photos. The Natural Bridge and The Gap are just two of the highlights you will see. To experience the majesty of the old growth forest nearby, known as the Valley of the Giants, take a tree top walk through the canopy of these huge trees almost 60m up in the air. Tonight you will camp with toilet and shower facilities. (BLD)
On the final day of this road trip, a visit is made to the surfer’s paradise town of Yallingup in the Margaret River region. Surf is not the only reason to visit however. Wine and caves are the other big attractions and you will get to go into one of the big show caves of the region. Get up close to the ancient and beautiful stalagmites and stalactites. We pay a visit to some of the local Aboriginal people to find out about the changes that have happened in the local environment and get a totally different perspective on the culture of the South West of Australia. It’s recommended that you book your own accommodation in Perth tonight. There are no planned activities but the group normally gets together over a few drinks and meal to reflect upon the journey. There is no accommodation included this night. (BL)
