Day 1: Hanoi - Cat Ba Island
7.20am: Depart Hanoi for Dinh Vu (Hai Phong) 2.5hr by public coach transfer 10.30am: Board public speed boat to Phu Long (20min) and transfer to Cat Ba 1.30pm: Afternoon free at leisure - Option to cycle through Cat Ba Island National Park, swim, or explore town. Stay overnight on Cat Ba Island is a local hotel.
Day 2: Nam Cat
9am: After a refreshing morning breakfast, board a Junk boat and cast off into Lan Ha Bay, an area of Ha Long Bay that is lightly traveled. You will kayak into a serene hidden lagoon and relax in the early afternoon sunshine as you sail back to the rock climbing area to have lunch about 12.30pm. After cruising through a maze of karst towers you will arrive at the secluded and uninhabited Moody's Island beach with sea water caressing two shorelines beneath a massive limestone cliff. You're certified climbing guides will outfit you with safe and comfortable UIAA standard climbing harnesses and rock climbing gear. After brief instruction your guides will set up top-rope systems on a variety of different routes so that you may ascend the rock face safely and worry free. Approx. 5pm: Finish at Nam Cat Island. BBQ dinner on the beach. Overnight in twin bamboo huts.
Day 3: Cat Ba Island - Hanoi
After a leisurely breakfast you'll get to experience sailing on a 'junk' around the bay, enjoy some more kayaking and a picnic lunch. Cruise back to Cat Ba Town and board hydrofoil to Haiphong at 2.45pm and then it's back to Hanoi on public coach.
Day 3: Cat Ba Island - Hanoi
Return to Hanoi in the evening. Inclusions - Basic accommodation in twin share bamboo huts x 1 night & Cat Ba Island x 1 night - Kayaking - Sailing on traditional junk - 2 x breakfasts, 1 x dinner, 2 x lunch - Arrival transfer - Local English speaking guide - Rock climbing
