Day 1: Xian
You'll arrive in Xian and make your way to your first accommodation point, where you can take your time settling in and meeting your new travel buddies for the next two weeks. Use the evening as a chance to get to know each other, and the city, by going out for a delicious dinner at one of Xian's many great restaurants. Don't rush your time here over the next two days. There's heaps to see and do, and of course, it's up to you to decide exactly what you want to spend time on.
Days 2 & 3: Xian - Luoyang
Xian - We head out early before the crowds to see the amazing Terracotta Warriors, spending as much time here as you wish. On returning to town, you can visit the Bell and Drum Towers, City Walls or wander around the Old Quarter. There's a lot of history to absorb, soget out there! On day 3 after the morning to take in the sights you have missed so far, we head to Luoyang in the afternoon for the next 2 nights.
Day 4: Luoyang Grottos
After arriving the night before , you have the option to spend a full day visiting the awe-inspiring Luoyang Grottoes, sitting on the side of a beautiful valley.
Day 5: Shaolin - Zhengzhou
Set off early in the morning for Shaolin, home of the famous Kungfu Monks! You'll have the chance to learn this ancient art for yourself, visit Shaolin Temple, or wander around the amazing surrounds, taking in the breathtaking views In the afternoon, it's on to Zhengzhou - if you're not too exhausted from all todays action, this city has some great nightlife to explore.
Day 6: Zhengzhou
Zhengzhou - Stop off in this vibrant city to spend time visiting local sights and museums. You can even head out of town to see the Yellow River which is nearby
Day 7: Qufu
Today, we head to Qufu. This peaceful town is the birthplace of the great Chinese philosopher Confucius, and is a beautiful place for some quiet reflection - there are no bars or cafés here, so it's the perfect spot to relax.
Days 8-10: Qingdao
Today it's onto the beachside resort of Qingdao. This popular city has plenty to keep you occupied, so once you've freshened up, head on down to the aptly named Beer Street... You've got three full days here, so make the most of it. Whether you want to see the sights, hit the beach or just chill out, Qingdao caters for it all. You'll be able to explore the town at your own pace completely and learn more of area's history, while the drinkers among you won't want to miss the Qingdao Beer Factory Tour! Be sure to join the group on the day trip to Laoshan Mountain too - a famous water source and important Buddhist site.
Days 11-13: Qingdao to Beijing
Catch the bullet train to Beijing in the morning of Day 11, and get ready to hit the bustling capital for all its worth - you've got 2 nights, so make the most of it. The sightseeing opportunities are endless - Tiananmen Square, the Olympic Stadium, museums, the Forbidden City to name but a few -and don't forget the shopping! STA180
