Win a Working Holiday in Outback Australia!

The Northern Territory in Australia, is one of the world’s most fascinating environments. A combination of brave Outback environments, diverse wetlands, and some of Australia’s richest history and culture, put simply: the Territory is made for exploring.

Imagine the Outback was your office…

Walls made up of Uluru (Ayers Rock) and the bold formations of Kata Tjuta; that unmistakable rust-red carpet; and a ceiling peppered with bright white stars.

Imagine you won a job, working in the Outback… (see where we’re going with this?)

As part of our ‘Live like an Aussie’ promotion, we’re offering you the chance to win one of seven dream jobs, including one in the Outback of the Northern Territory, where you’ll join the team of the award-winning “Sounds of Silence” dining experience, which amazes guests from around the world each night as they enjoy a meal beneath the huge, mystical skies of the Outback.

Coming up, I’ll explain a little more about this unique opportunity, as well as providing some more information about taking your own working holiday in Australia’s Northern Territory.

More information on the prize

The prize includes a temporary paid job, based at Uluru — slap bang in the heart of Australia — plus a fully-functioning 12-month Working Holiday Visa, and return flights to Australia!

The visa will mean you can build this prize into a 12-month working holiday in Australia, giving you all the options available to British backpackers in the country (we’ll talk more about that in a moment).

You’ll be presented with an excellent opportunity to gain experience across a range of hospitality areas. Specific duties in the role will include food and beverage service, ensuring hotel guest customer satisfaction, while developing professional customer relationships.

How to enter

We want to offer everyone (eligible for an Aussie working holiday visa) the chance to win, so we’ve made it incredibly easy. No interviews. No paperwork. No CVs.

All you need to do, is visit the STA Travel Facebook Page, where Ned & Norma, our buzzy “career advisers” await. They’ll walk you through a fun entry process (don’t worry, no skills necessary!) and make sure you get your name in the running for the chance to win this working holiday in Australia.

Visit our Live Like an Aussie app on Facebook, click ‘Enter’, and select Northern Territory (the big orange one in the top middle) and follow the instructions.

It will take you less than a minute, and it could end up being the best thing you do today!

Working Holidays in the Northern Territory

A working holiday in the Northern Territory gives you an opportunity like nowhere else. From outback stations and farms, to hospitality and nursing, there are many ways to get involved in the Territory, and the rewards are tenfold.

When people say the Northern Territory is the real experience, they mean it. Although the job on offer with this competition might sound like everything comes on a silver platter in the Outback, the reality is that it takes an inordinate amount of teamwork and individual effort to keep the fascinating Territory oiled.

The Northern Territory is also a great place to study, with options available in VET courses and apprenticeships, as well as undergraduate and post graduate tertiary study.

Institutions are located in and around the Northern Territory’s major centres, like Darwin, so you will always be close to the action to unwind in your down-time.

Still on the fence? Over the next five years the folks in NT expect an increase of 20,000 jobs in a variety of industries across the country. That’s a whole lot of opportunity for you to splice to an adventure down under.

Have you heard the rumours that if you spend at least three months doing specified work in rural Australia, you can get a second one-year visa? Guess what — the entire Northern Territory is classified as part of regional Australia!

What are you waiting for? Get the lowdown on Working Holidays in the Northern Territory or try your luck and enter the competition on Facebook!

Is there an age limit to enter the competition?:-):-):-)

    • Hey Cass, I’m afraid this comp is only open to those aged between 18-30. We’d love to open it up to everyone, but our hands are tied by the government regulations surrounding working holiday visas.

I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!!! To see STA supporting such amazing job opportunities in the country I would LOVE to live and work in the most has made my day! Outback changed my life and I would give anything to return there and share the wonders that it has to offer to others. Or working with wildlife and marine mammals! As a biologist and a previous volunteer at the Billabong Sanctuary in Townsville, QLD, the chance to work full time with koalas, kangaroos, and seals would be an amazing experience and serious life long dream come true! STA you are the BEST!
