Ask the experts: What’s the best way to travel between multiple cities in North America?

So what can our Travel Experts help with this week we wonder?

Lucky Georgia has a number of friends scattered around the US and Canada, and would like to know the best way to travel between each city.

I’m planning on visiting friends in Toronto, New York, Madison/Indiana, Lawton/Olkahoma, LA and San Francisco, but I’m not sure whether it’s best to fly, get a bus, or travel by train to fit them all in? Can I do it in a way that ensures flexibility, so I can spend longer in a certain areas if I need to? My budget is £5000 and accommodation is already sorted. Georgia, London.

So, Experts, what’s the best way Georgia should take on her epic tour of  North America…

Claire Whittington from STA Travel Brighton says…

I think a mix of flying and bus would be the best option for you, Georgia — some journeys would be lovely to take by bus such as the Californian Coast, whereas others would be much quicker and cost effective to fly as internal flights in the US can be pretty cheap.

I’d suggest flying to New York and grabbing our Canada and USA Encounter Ways Bamba Hop on/Hop off bus pass, as it gives you flexibility to stay with friends but also includes some great day trips to make sure you don’t miss out on anything. The pass includes a day tour of New York, a foodie tour of Philadelphia and a bike trip around Boston as well as giving you the opportunity to stop at Washington, Niagara Falls, Toronto and Montreal. From here I would fly to Indiana, then Oklahoma and finally onto LA, as the journeys would be pretty long by train or bus.

From LA, why not take our 3 day California Coast Mini Adventure to San Francisco? This trip takes you along Highway 1, stopping at beautiful California coastal towns such as Santa Barbara and the trendy Monterey, and gives you ample seal and whale spotting opportunites off the shoreline of Big Sur. It would such a shame to fly this route when there is so much amazing stuff to see along the way, plus this is a great way to meet some new travelling friends along the way.

San Francisco is my favourite place in the States and visiting Cold Stone Creamery is a must — I think it might just be the best ice cream ever (and I’ve eaten a LOT of ice cream!). There is nothing better than strolling along Fisherman’s Wharf in the sunshine looking at the stunning views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge with an awesome ice cream in your hand.

Thanks for your help, Claire! If you’ve got a question for the Experts drop us an email and the answer will be waiting for you here on the blog very soon.

I have been browsing online more than 2 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours.
It is pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all
webmasters and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be a lot more useful
    than ever before.
