Let’s go to the beach beach…

Check out the 2nd instalment from our Thailand Adventure competition winner Mia, she’s here telling us all about the beautiful Thai beaches…

Thailand has so much culture and lush jungle, but let’s face it who doesn’t love a good beach? With sandy beaches, turquoise waters and big shady palm trees – it really is true paradise. Here are a few picturesque locations to prove Thailand really has some of the best beaches in the world…

Mae Nam, Ang Thong Marine Park – Koh Samui

Koh Samui

The Ang Thong Marine Park is well worth a visit if you’re staying on Koh Samui. It’s a gorgeous beach and has super clear water, you can even trek up to the 500m view point to get this killer view! Top tip: If you want to do the walk (more like a rock climb) wear trainers, I wore flip-flops and was clinging on for my life, but that view is definitely worth it.

Sairee Beach – Koh Tao

Koh Tao

Sairee Beach is a seriously pretty beach with traditional Thai longboats moored all around. When it comes to a “picture postcard” Thai beach, this is exactly what you’d imagine. Koh Tao is quite small in comparison to the other islands, making it less busy. It’s the perfect spot to chill out away from the crowds. Most people head north from the Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan to Koh Tao for detox after all the crazy partying and bucket induced hangovers. This island even comes with a classic beach swing – ideal for that cheeky Instagram!

Chaweng Beach – Koh Samui

Chaweng Beach

Chaweng Beach is the longest strip of sand on Koh Samui. It’s one of the best things about the island along with the spectacular Buddhist temple that is situated above Q Bar on Chaweng’s northern end. The Chaweng Beach motto is: relax by day, party by night – doesn’t get much better than that! You definitely need to check out the infamous Ark Bar while you’re there, for its yummy cocktails and buzzing atmosphere. If you don’t fancy it, walk along the beach to find a bar that suits you, hey, turn it into a bar crawl? That could be fun! I recommend Soi Reggae for some seriously chilled vibes – well worth a visit.

Koh Nang Yuan – Koh Tao

Koh Tao

Koh Nang Yuan is a private island situated just off Koh Tao. It’s made of three tiny islands connected by a massive strip of sand. After all your late nights partying this is the perfect retreat. The island is so peaceful and has great snorkelling all around. It would be well worth learning to snorkel here, calm shores and abundant marine life make it the idyllic spot. If you’re lucky you might catch a glimpse of a reef shark! The island gets pretty busy after 9:30am and clears by about 4:30pm, so if you fancy a bit of “me time” be sure to arrive early or stay late.

Wow these beaches look simply stunning! Soak up some sun in Thailand and experience true paradise. But it’s not all beaches, check out Mia’s trek through the hilltribes.

  2. Aw, this was an incredibly nice post. Finding the time and actual effort to produce a
top notch article… but what can I say… I put things off a lot and never manage to get anything done.
