Instagramming around the Gold Coast

Eight Instagram images of the glorious Gold Coast.
We’re all guilty of spending our entire time at Wet’n'Wild going round the AquaLoop until we feel sick. But GC has so much cool stuff going on like, cute locals, ice cream that makes you skinnier* and rainbow waterfalls. Resist the ride and let Instagram show you the way…

*kind of.
1. Those beers

Well you wouldn’t want a warm one would ya? For the punchiest rum cocktails, bottled craft beers and rotating taps, head to the Cambus Wallace on Nobby Beach (sniggers). This moody vintage night-spot is where the cool kids hang. And luckily for you, there’s a restaurant attached to give your stomach some essential lining.

Where? Gold Coast Highway, Nobby Beach (still sniggering), QLD

2. Rainbow Waterfalls

It’s not all surf and partying on the Gold Coast. To escape the tourist traps visit O’Reilly Rainforest Retreat in the Gold Coast Hinterland. Take your pick from a glow worm tour, zip lining, eco adventure or Segway safari. After all that back to nature stuff, relax in the Lost World Spa and feel properly pampered.
Where? Lamington National Park Rd, Canungra QLD

3. Cocowhips

A post shared by AlyciaLouise (@alycialouisek) on

They say holiday calories don’t count. Get whipped. We hate to break it to you, they do. But NOT when you’re eating 100% vegan, gluten, soy and diary free Coco Whips. Enjoy guilt-free indulgence on the beach, your bikini bod will thank you for it. However, not sure about that bottle of wine and six Jägerbombs you had the night before. That’s on you.

Where? BSKT Cafe, 4 Lavarack Rd, Mermaid Beach (as IF that’s a place), Gold Coast

4. That sunset

Cant. stop. looking.

5. Farmers’ markets

Feel the local love at Palm Beach Famer’s Market where farmers, artists and customers come together to feast on local produce and celebrate everything about the region. With all types of fresh, organic food on sale and local musicians playing, you can chow down on your organic beef burger while listening to live music.

Where? Palm Beach Currumbin High School, Thrower Drive, Palm Beach, Gold Coast

6. Fish and Chips

A post shared by Michael Lui (@mikexdreame) on

For the best fish and chips on the Gold Coast it has to be Burleigh Heads Fish Mongers. Massive portions, crispy chips and fresh meaty fish. Dine in and it’s about six bucks or four quid. We recommend getting the Barramundi or Snapper fish, with a side of sweet potato chips and a squeeze of lemon.
Where? James St, Burleigh Heads, QLD

7. His face

Couldn’t resist.

8. The locals

The locals are pretty cute. Especially at Currumbin Sanctuary, home to kangaroos, koalas, wombats, dingoes, you name the indigenous Australian animal they’ve got it! The sanctuary has a wildlife hospital where animals’ lives are saved. Take a stroll around the bush and spot them in their natural habitat. Head to Broad Beach and you’ll spot a different kind of cute local.
Where? 28 Tomewin Street, Currumbin QLD

Like the look of it? Check out what else you can do on the Gold Coast here. If we catch you at Wet’n'Wild it’s over.
