STA Travel Blog

The Lion Doesn’t Sleep Tonight

Today’s blog is from STA Travel’s Anthony Savery; a former professional football coach who hung up his boots and decided to take a trip around the world. Having spent a year going from Cape Town to Buenos Aires and many a destination in between, he returned to London to become STA Travel’s Tailor Made Africa Specialist

Before departing London, I watched the Lion King movie to get me in the mood for my time in Africa. Ordinarily I would rather gouge my eyes out with a pair of rusty scissors than listen to Elton John, but you just cant help singing along with the film’s catchy tunes. After the credits rolled I was ready to go searching for Simba.

5 Incredible Overland Adventures

Any trip, however far and for however long, can be an adventure. But sometimes a journey is so brilliant, so all-encompassing, so (yes, we’re going to say it) epic, that it crosses over into something else all together.

17 Adventure Tours Under £800

It’s a well worn myth that you need to empty your purse into a black hole in order to really see the world. Yes, if you want to spend 10 months flying to 12 countries it is going to cost a bit (though not quite as much as you might think), but you’d be genuinely surprised how much you can see of the world in less than 2 weeks on a budget.

It’s important to remember that the prices below don’t include international flights so you will need to budget for those as well as some meals and optional activities. But with transport, accommodation & loads of other inclusions, these adventures represent a big chunk of your trip budget. They’re also all small group experiences (most with an average of 14 people) so you can really get off the beaten track and into areas it’s very hard to reach solo.

It Means No Worries for the Rest of your Days

Today’s blog comes from Rob Edmunds, a Travel Expert in our London, Victoria store

A place that captured the hearts of the world for the 2010 FIFA World Cup as they welcomed the world to their country with an array of colour, music and smiles. Alive with passion, the awe inspiring Big 5, breathtaking miles of coast line and a rich national history of of influential men and women. Hard to believe I know but when STA sent a group of Travel Experts there in June 2014, nothing could prepare us for what we would experience.
