21 Amazing Travel Experiences

We’re not getting any younger. In the time it took you to read this opening couple of lines, you’re already two seconds older. Three, two, one. Now you’re five seconds older. In five seconds time, you’ll be ten seconds older, and in an hours time you’ll be one hour and eleven seconds older than you are right now (I added on a second in case you were a slow reader).

So, with life whizzing by at such a pace, it’s time to make some plans. The kind of plans that will act like rungs on a ladder, allowing you to clamber through the world with a kick in your step.

High Five… Peru!

“Anything you can do, Peru can dooooo better!” While that may not be strictly true (or lyrically correct), Peru certainly offers travellers a one-stop-shop for the ultimate adventure. It’s far enough away to feel the full breeze of obscurity, yet popular enough with travellers to be grooved with friendly trails.

Travelling to Peru not only sounds amazing, it is amazing. It’s a country riveted with mystical legends, and rippled with deep, lush rainforests which have the ability to swallow ancient civilisations whole.

Aside from this, the country is hooked onto South America by the Andes mountain range, and pinned to the South Pacific Ocean by endless acres of coastal desert, including the world’s driest place, the Atacama Desert.

In true High Five spirit, we’ve swept over the country to pick out five treats that you simply shouldn’t miss during your time in the country. Let us know what you think in the comments below.

If you’d like to feature in an upcoming edition of this weekly challenge, simply email our Experts a question and you could find yourself in the Hall of Fame, right here on the STA Travel Blog!

Shakedown, Buenos Aires

This week, we’re shaking down South America’s sassiest city: ‘the Paris of the South’, Buenos Aires.

Known affectionately by many a traveller as simply ‘B.A.’, its original name was actually ‘La Ciudad de la Santísima Trinidad y Puerto de Santa María del Buen Aire’, or, ‘City of the Most Holy Trinity and Port of Saint Mary of the Fair Winds’.

…But ‘B.A’. will probably do.

Home to the sensual Argentine Tango, the world’s juiciest bife de lomo steak, and the most famous football match in the world – the superclásico – this is a city that will stay with you long after you’ve left.

We’ll be talking you through the must-see attractions of the city; how to get from A to B (Or B to A… geddit?); where to go for the best steak in town, and where to head to once you’ve had enough of the city.
