Ask the Experts: I need a Mexico Medley!

Welcome back to the weekly huddle, that we like to call Ask the Experts. You do the asking. We’ll do the experting. This week, we were tasked with a Mexican odyssey by Lizzie from Nottingham, as she challenged us to unravel a trip to Mexico.

If you’d like to feature in an upcoming edition of this weekly challenge, simply email our Experts a question and you could find yourself in the Hall of Fame, right here on the STA Travel Blog!

Shakedown, Buenos Aires

This week, we’re shaking down South America’s sassiest city: ‘the Paris of the South’, Buenos Aires.

We’ll be talking you through the must-see attractions of the city; how to get from A to B (Or B to A… geddit?); where to go for the best steak in town, and where to head to once you’ve had enough of the city.

Five Alternative New Year’s Events

If you haven’t already achieved 89.5% of your 2011 New Year’s resolution, then today’s the day, because that’s exactly how far through the year we are. “Where’s the year gone?” I hear you say, for the tenth year in a row. “We haven’t even had summer!” You joke. We laugh. You cringe.

So, with little more than a month remaining until your big plans for celebrating New Year’s Eve fall apart at the mercy of a dozen text messages from unreliable friends*, it’s time to start making plans for the big night.

*Just me then?

Joe King with Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell did not come into STA Travel today for an appointment with our consultant who is not called Joe King. But if he did, it would probably go a little something like this…

Ah, Simon Cowell – the man in the iron codpiece, talent finder, dustpan-hairstyle-genius and thin-lipped Lothario. When he pushed open my door, I briefly convinced myself that he’d come to whisk me away to world stardom. A glittery future of arena tours and TV appearances.

But alas, it wasn’t to be.
