Road Trip Australia: Queensland Six Pack!

The Aussie road trip rolls to a conclusion today, as we enter our seventh — and final — state: Queensland.

Aussie’s big hitter is a wonderland of landscapes, from the crisp blue Pacific Ocean and the radiant Great Barrier Reef, to the rich red Outback that stretches through historic gold rush towns to the ancient rainforests of the Far North.

Few travellers to Australia leave without visiting at least a small part of the Sunshine State, whether that’s one of the famed coastal towns, or the plump fruit picking towns that pepper the hinterland.

We’re continuing our Aussie road trip today, as we journey to the far south, and Australia’s only island state: Tasmania.

Famous for its little critters, and revered for its untapped wilderness and gourmet offerings, Tasmania has long attracted travellers to its rich green valleys and energetic coastlines. In my opinion, Tasmania offers the best of the best.

Its brilliant white beaches remain pleasantly devoid of crowds; its easily accessible hiking trails never fail to stir the emotions; its cities and towns are overtly friendly and welcoming, and its mosaic of incredible history, arts, and food make for untold adventures.

Our Aussie road trip rolls on, over the border from Western Australia and into the country’s most enigmatic region, the Northern Territory.

Often described as “real Australia”, the Territory provides travellers with some of the the nation’s most iconic sights, many of which we’ll pass by on this episode of our great Australia road trip.
