Calling all full time students - working in America will never be this flexible and easy! Only for those studying full time at university, the Work America programme allows you to spend your summer living and working in the USA.Work on a ranch in Texas, find an internship in New York or hit the beaches of Maryland – discover the real America and be more than just a tourist! You have the chance to earn some cash, do some travelling and gain some great life and CV experience.
We've teamed up with BUNAC (who have been running the programme since 1962 so they have heaps of experience!) to offer you the ultimate working in America package.

The 4-month work permit, commonly referred to as the J-1 visa, cannot be applied for independently and can only be obtained with the assistance of an organisation such as BUNAC. They'll help with all aspects of the visa application and US Embassy appointment, as well as provide support for the duration of your trip.
The programme runs over the university summer holidays and students can work and travel in America for up to 4 months between May and October. We recommend applying at least eight weeks before planned departure to allow for visa processing. Applying before Christmas is advantageous as you can gain early access to the Job Zone, an online guide which lists a variety of vacancies and provides useful job hunting advice.
