Work in Canada

This is an ideal package for anyone embarking on a working holiday in Canada. After securing your IEC visa you’ll have the freedom and flexibility to do almost any job, anywhere in Canada and work for up to 12 months.

Work at a summer resort that offers mountain biking, canoeing and hiking...or a winter resort where you can carve it up on the slopes...or find a job in your chosen career field and experience the city life of Vancouver or Toronto. You have the chance to earn some cash, do some travelling and gain some great life skills.

Canadian visas for this programme are now sold out until January 2013, but if you already have your visa and want to sign up for the programme you will still get all the perks including support with job hunting, finding accommodation and quick access to bank accounts and a Social Insurance Number.

How does it work? We want you to have an independent work and travel experience but starting out in a new country on your own can be daunting. That’s where we come in! We're here to guide you through the visa application process, help with job hunting and generally assist you with your trip preparation. It's more than just a starter package – Work Canada provides up to a 12-month support programme for anyone working and travelling in Canada. The programme includes: • Pre-departure advice • Welcome orientation • Access to support and staff for up to 12 months. • Support and assistance with job hunting • Access to jobs listings • Help with accommodation hunting • Most importantly it gives you the option to travel over in a group – meaning you have a ready-made group of friends by the time you arrive in Canada. Employment info Previous travellers who have used the Work Canada package found employment as ski lift operators, ski resort staff, bar and club staff and office assistants - if you have relevant experience and a bit of motivation, jobs can be found in just about any sector. Salaries range from CA$10 to CA$15 per hour. When can I go? Work Canada can usually be booked between January and August depending on availability of visas. There are group flight departures once a month - it's best to book at least 10 weeks before departure, especially if they want to join a group flight. Group flights fr £630 If you book one of our monthly group departures to Toronto and Vancouver you’ll get to travel with fellow job seekers and make the whole trip a lot less daunting! Plus, we'll sort out your first night's accommodation in Vancouver. Alternatively, flights can be booked independently and you can still make use of all the support services and meet up with other travellers at the welcome orientation. Am I eligible? • You must be aged 18-30 at the time of visa application • You must have be a British passport holder Please note that IEC Visa’s are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis. Early application is recommended. Eligibility criteria can be changed by the Canadian High Commission at any time.
