Just a few minutes away from the Rue de Rennes and Gare Montparnasse, L’Atelier is a classic Parisian hangout. Open 24hours, you can grab a bite to eat any time of day! Whether you’re coming back from a night out or starting your day, head to L’Atelier for a delicious traditional French brunch. Enjoy a hot cup of coffee, fresh juice, scrambled eggs with bacon or salmon on its beautiful terrace. When you’re finished, head towards the Jardin du Luxembourg to walk off some of those croissants!
After feeling like ‘Amelie’ strolling down the steps of Montmartre (watch the movie before you go!) head towards Marcel. You’ll feel like you’ve truly arrived in Paris in this authentic little French bistro, it’s a cosy spot serving tasty food at affordable prices – go for the pancakes! This sweet escape is the perfect base for exploring Montmartre, you can go window shopping in Abbesses and enjoy the breath taking view of Paris at the Sacre Coeur.
Hailed as the ‘Picasso of Pastry’ by Vogue, Pierre Herme has revolutionised the world of pastry marrying together innovative new flavours and elegant icing. Come have a “gouter” at one of Pierre Herme’s shops in Paris and try viennoiseries, pound cakes and macaroons – take your pick! Enjoy your delicacies on the walkway along the river Seine like a true Parisian. Go on, treat yo’ self.
Les Grillades de Buenos Aires
While you’re in the area (6 arrondissement) head towards Les Grillades de Buenos Aires. This is ideal for anyone who loves meat and good wine! It’s a typical Argentinian restaurant offering the most delicious “filet de boeuf”. Honestly, it’s tried, tasted and approved by us first hand (genuinely, the best steak I’ve ever eaten!). Make sure you arrive early as the restaurant can accept only 20 diners at a time and gets pretty full. But makes for a great date!
If you’re on a bit of a budget while in Paris, head towards les Fontaines for some cheap, refreshing Mojitos – there’s nothing like sipping cocktails on a warm Parisian evening overlooking the fountains! Located next to the Beaubourg museum in the Marais, Les Fontaines has a large outdoor area away from the crowds, the atmosphere is very chilled and very French. The customers and staff feel like one big family.
