Frequently asked questions about travelling to Queensland

When is the best time to visit Queensland?

The great thing about visiting Queensland is that it's pretty much a year-round destination. Like the rest of Australia, their seasons are swapped around, so summer is December to February, and winter is June to August. You can still get decent temperatures in the winter, with highs averaging 21°C, making Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef a year round destination for travellers.

How easy is it to live and work in Queensland?

So easy! If you're a British citizen under 30, you can apply for a one-year Australia Working Holiday visa so you can live, work and travel around Australia. You don't need to secure a job before you land; just save up enough to live for a few weeks to months after you arrive. It's easy to find work - travellers can do anything from bar or office work to farming. We can also help you with job hunting and accommodation until you start earning. Just check out our Work in Australia hub for more information.
