Gold Coast Travel Guide

If great weather and amazing beaches is what you're wanting from your trip to Queensland (and who wouldn't want that?) then you don't want to miss out this little 'ripper'. The Gold Coast is not only home to the famous - and slightly crazy - Surfers Paradise, it's also home to laid back coastal towns, the epic Hinterland which is like a hidden paradise, and islands where you can snorkel and kayak to your heart's content.

Gold Coast's must-visit neighbourhoods

Located South of Brisbane, this is "classic Australia" - a stretch of coastline that goes for around 52km, which means there's a lot of beaches, towns and even rainforest to explore.

South Stradbroke Island

Affectionately known by the locals as 'South Straddie', this little slice of paradise is just a little boat trip away from Southport just north of Surfers Paradise. Go for a day trip and try your hand at surfing, rock climbing or hiking, or camp under the stars and stretch the activities out over a couple of days. Proper Aussie island life.
Surfers Paradise

Surfers Paradise

Eat, sleep, surf, party, and repeat: this could easily be the motto for this coastal town. It's got beaches (with the skyline right on it), it's got tons of restaurants for foodies, it's got great surf, and it's got bars and clubs to suit every night owl. What more could you want...good weather? Well it's got that too!

Gold Coast Hinterland

When you travel a little inland and discover the wide expanse of plants, trees and beautiful hiking trails - we could forgive you for assuming you're no longer in the Gold Coast, but you are! You could easily spend a couple of days here exploring the jungle, chasing waterfalls (yeah, you heard us quoting TLC), and spamming Instagram to within an inch of its life.
